1. What is backlinks?

Backlink is a link that a website receives from another website. Backlinks have a big impact on the popularity of a website in search engine results. For this reason, they are considered to be very useful to improve a website’s SEO ranking. Search engine such as Google calculates rankings using various factors to show search results. Nobody knows exactly how much weight search engines attach backlinks when listing results. However, what we do know for sure is that they are very important when doing SEO (Search Engine Optimization) of a website.

It should be natural, which means that a website cannot use artificial methods to create backlinks for its own websites. The qualities of the links are more important than quantity.

2. How do backlinks work?

Every website operator can either make links to other websites for their sites, or users can write something on the website and on such websites they can also set links to other websites. Now every website determines how robots can visit and look around the website (robot is an automated program that Google uses to collect information from any website).

For example, a Google robot records that a website has a link to another website, it realizes that this website to which the link was placed is probably more valuable than other websites so that it automatically evaluates this website and in the search results shows above. Is only one of many criteria on the basis of which a search engine classifies websites, but in general the more websites refer to a website, the more valuable it is rated and the more it is found by Google and visitors?

3. Why the backlinks are a major part of SEO?

As we describe above, you already have known what is backlinks. Now, let us talk about why these links are a major part of search engine optimization.

3.1. Refer to the contents themselves

The backlinks are part of an SEO or search engine optimization perspective; indeed they constitute one of the fundamental points, as they determine for Google an index of the popularity and competence of your content. To this end they are all the more important and valid the more they refer to the contents themselves, or if they are associated with a text containing the keywords that represent your web contents.

3.2. Internal and External links

Links have the function of moving us from one point to another on the web. Without them, we would not be able to enjoy the contents. These “links” can be of two types such as internal links and external links (backlinks). When they link pages or content on your own website they are called internal links. When they are directed to other pages that are outside of your website they are called external links.

3.3. Authoritiveness

Why point content that is not on your site? Generally, because we believe that a given source is valid and rich in information to integrate or offer to your readers. In this regard, search engines have always attached enormous importance to external links. With this system of pointing an exchange of links between sites has been designed. The more authoritative a site, the more likely it will receive incoming links. This mechanism of exchange of values is called link juice and the process of acquiring links, in order to increase your score on the web, is called link building and it is the part of Off-Page SEO.

The backlinks are the consequence of the brand’s perceived visibility and authoritativeness, the effectiveness of PR (Page Rank) activities and the production of high-quality content, therefore they are both reasonably interesting and functional for the business objectives.
